This guide provides a basic voice configuration walkthrough for Win-911 Workspace with SIP.US. Common use cases we've seen for WIN-911 include alarm services, gated access control, elevators, etc. Please note this guide is only for a basic configuration, and SIP.US only provides technical support for its carrier network, assistance with SIP device registration, and SIP.US account configuration support. If you require additional assistance with configuration of your WIN-911, please reach out to the vendor or manufacturer directly.
- Open WIN-911 and click on the Gateways menu on the left.
- Click on the "+" icon and add select the Voice gateway option.
- Log in to the SIP.US Customer Portal and navigate to: SIP Trunking -> SIP Trunks.
- Note your SIP trunk number and the associated password (click "show password" to reveal).
- Apply the following Voice Gateway Server settings in WIN-911 Workspace:
- Toggle on the SIP/VoIP option.
- Toggle on Registration Required.
- Enter the SIP trunk number in the User ID field.
- Enter the SIP trunk number in the Registration ID field.
- Enter the password for the SIP trunk in the Password field.

- Program a legitimate CID to show the FROM number for outbound calls. Refer to this article on Setting Up Caller ID for a rundown on industry requirements. If you experience issues completing calls, the article also details how to use SIP.US' CID Override feature to rewrite your caller ID automatically for all outbound calls.
- Leave all other settings default for now. Click Save changes to save your configuration.
- Place an outbound test call. SIP.US requires that you send 11 digits for NPA destinations. See Setting Up Outbound Calling for more information.
Example: 1NPAXXXXXXX - 18005669810
- If you experience issues with missing audio, please refer to Interconnecting with SIP.US for the IPs you will need to whitelist and to learn about how SIP.US handles audio delivery.
- You may also need to set a specific external IP for your registration so that SIP.US delivers the audio to the correct destination in your network. You can define this in the WIN-911 Gateway settings under the Network Adapter field. Click Specify IP and then enter the desired IP.
The WIN-911 should now be successfully configured. If you experience issues and require assistance with troubleshooting, please reach out to support@sip.us or dial 18005669810 and choose option 4 to speak to Technical Support.
