After an initial order has been placed, an account will have at least one active SIP trunk with a service plan. If you require additional SIP trunks, you can add them at any time via the customer portal. The guide will show how fast and easy it is to spin up additional SIP trunks.
- Log in to your SIP.US account and navigate to SIP Trunking > SIP Trunks. The page will load and display all active SIP trunks on the account.
- Click Add New Trunk to create a new SIP trunk.
- The user interface will load a new SIP trunk number. Give the SIP trunk an Identifier name and click Submit.
- The SIP trunk is now created, but you must assign a service plan. Click Select Rate Plan.
- SIP.US offers unlimited calling in the US48 and Canada. Choose the number of call channels you would like to enable on the SIP trunk. Keep in mind that a channel equals one active call, so choose the appropriate capacity for the amount of call traffic you expect to pass through the SIP trunk at any given time.
Click Next to view the order details and then Submit to complete the order.
- The SIP trunk is now active and you can register it to your phone system and begin sending/receiving calls.
Additional Notes
- If you require additional SIP trunks to handle multiple SIP registrations, please contact Technical Support at support@siptrunk.com for a Linked Trunk. These SIP trunks will share your existing Rate Plan, providing the option to add more redundancy to your deployment at no additional cost. Learn more in this article about Call Failover Options.
- You can modify the Rate Plan for an existing SIP trunk at any time. Simply click on the Modify Rate Plan option and add or deduct channels as needed.
